PRIVACY STATEMENT
The privacy of the users of our ARTS FOR LEARNING web site ("A4L Site") is important to Young Audiences, Inc., ("YAI") its affiliates, partners, sponsors and our content providers. The following describes our commitment to protecting the privacy of our users.
- In the course of providing our A4L Site and its contents and information to you, we do not collect personal information about you, such as name, address, phone number or e-mail address.
- The A4L Site does automatically collect certain non-personal information like the numbers and frequency of visitors to different areas of the A4L Site. Such information helps us to understand how people are using the specific areas of the A4L Site and to assess the information and content of the A4L Site. This information contributes to our plans for future development and improvement of the A4L Site. We also collect non-personal information about you such as your Internet browser type (Netscape or Internet Explorer) and whether or not your computer's CD-ROM drive is being used and how it is identified.
- An IP address is a number that is automatically given to your computer when you log on to the web (in some cases this is a dedicated IP address and in others the IP address is temporary) and web servers automatically identify your computer by its IP address. The A4L Site does collect IP addresses for administering and monitoring use of the A4L Site, however, we no not link IP addresses to personal information. We do log a user's session but the user is not known to us. However, we can and will use IP addresses to identify a user in the event it becomes necessary to enforce compliance with our Terms of Use or to protect our A4L Site and users.
- While the A4L Site is not directed towards, children or young people we are particularly concerned about their privacy and any abuses of their privacy and believe that children should always have parental consent before providing any personal information. We are committed to providing a safe and secure environment for any younger users and thus do not collect personal information.
- Bulletin boards on the A4L Site may display the name, if provided, of the person posting a message and that person's IP address. Be absolutely sure, when providing any personal information on the bulletin boards of the A4L Site that you are fully aware that you are revealing this personal information, that it will be accessible to users of the A4L Site and that you are willing to assume the risk and any consequences of providing such information. We cannot guarantee the security/privacy of information you choose to disclose on-line. Remember: whenever you give out personal information on-line that information can be collected and used by others.
- The A4L Site does use "cookies", or blocks of user information which a web site places on the hard drive of a user's computer. However, the information on the cookies used by the A4L Site, is limited to information about the CD-ROM drive on your computer.
- We reserve the right to change our privacy policy in the future, however, should we decide to make such a change, we will conspicuously post such changes so you will know exactly what information is being collected, how we intend to use information collected, whether it will be disclosed to anyone and how you can "opt-in" or "opt-out" of having this information collected.
- The A4L Site does link to outside/external sites and we cannot be responsible for the content or privacy policies of these linked sites.
